You’ll be happy to know that CRY America has created its own Events module with an aim to scale up event promotions, registrations and donations through a common online platform. The module has national event pages, Action Center specific local event pages and Individual fund raising pages. This module was recently tested on our popular CRY Walk 2009 event and will be used to cover all 70 to 80 events annually organized by CRY America. Check out our new CRY Events module here.

Dear CRY America Supporter,

Cities across the U.S. have been abuzz with a number of CRY America awareness and fundraising events in the last few months. These events provide a platform for people of all ages to partner the child rights movement that enables lasting change in the lives of children. We’d like to share with you the results of our national event which concluded recently – “CRY Walk for Child Rights 2009”

Our popular annual event, CRY Walk for Child Rights 2009 was organized by our Volunteer Chapters across 12 cities from June 14 to October 10 this year. Over 1300 volunteers, donors, sponsors and walkers participated in this event which raised $65,000. Media outreach, student outreach and kids activities were built into majority of the events. Check out the event details in the link below. A big thank you goes out to our CRY Walk donors, sponsors, walkers & volunteers who made this event a success!

By participating in these events each individual in his or her own way plays their part in restoring to children their basic rights to live learn, grow, play and be protected. Do read on to know more about events happening in a city close to you.

With best wishes,

Shefali Sunderlal
President, CRY America

Through awareness building and innovative methods using music and lyrics, the town where no births were registered now boasts 185 complete birth registrations.

What does that have to do with Child Rights? Well, a whole lot! Not registering the birth of a child, means the mother doesn’t get monitored for supplementary nutrition during her lactation period. The child’s health does not get checked or supported by the Primary Health Care Center. The child will probably not figure on the charts, when polio drops are administered and when the basic immunization vaccinations are given. The root causes of physical disability, child mortality, malnourishment… lie in the lack of awareness and inaccessibility of systems like this.

In its sixth year, CRY Walk for Child Rights was organized by 12 CRY America Volunteer Chapters across the US from June through October 2009. The table below gives an overview of the CRY Walk event, along with links for more event information.
