Disha Vihar

The team from project Disha Vihar heard about little Diwakar and how he had stopped going to school through the local children’s collective. On probing about the issue they realized that economic conditions had led to Diwakar’s parents discontinuing his studies and putting him to work.

The team not only met Diwakar but also his parents, convincing them about the importance of sending the boy to school. Diwakar was enrolled into the center for non formal education so that he could catch up on his lost years at school. His progress at the school was regularly tracked and soon was enrolled into the public school near his village. Diwakar overcame hurdles to eventually be a regular student who likes going to school. Diwakar dreams of completing his studies to be a responsible citizen.
